Hesitant Handyman Builds - DIY String Art!
So as Amanda and I are getting ready for our new addition in October, and we’ve started to work on the nursery. We wanted to do a special piece for the nursery that we made ourselves–we’ll be using prints of James Hance’s “Wookiee the Chew” books for the room, so it’s a semi-Star Wars themed room.
Amanda came to me with an idea:
“What if we did a string art Death Star? with I love you to the moon & back……that’s no moon…”
“I love you,” I told her.
“I know.” She replied. (You see what we did there? If you’re a fan of Star Wars, you totally got why my wife and I are so perfectly matched. =)
It was a week of work to get the whole thing finished, but it turned out fantastic! And I’m excited to share my project plan for it on BuildSomething.com! I left it more open-ended than just the Death Star–you can really do what we did for whatever type of string art you want to do. Add a saying! Don’t add a saying! Make it bigger! Make it smaller! I refer to the process I followed, but left it open for modification. You can check it out here!
